Tamworth Men's Seconds Vs Cannock 4

Cannock started strongly in this fixture, dominating much of the ball and playing good simple hockey,

In the 1st half they created a number of chances to take the lead, but great defending held them out – Tamworth looking dangerous on the break did have several chances through direct hockey and snatched the lead towards the end of the half with great, neat play, seeing Dylan Waldron go round the keeper and junior Jacob Jephcote scoring his first senior goal in hockey!

Cannock responded well and just before the end of the 1st half broke away and some neat 1-2’s led to the ball being slotted home and the game tied at 1-1 half time.

Tamworth started the 2nd half well, holding territory in the Cannock 25, failing to create any real opportunity to take the lead.  A Short corner routine for Cannock saw then take a 2-1 lead mid-way through the half and in quick succession found a 3rd goal.  This took the sting out of the game, and they saw out the game.  Cannock with a well-deserved 3 points and just wanted it more that Tamworth today, a disappointing performance overall.

Dylan Waldron picking up man of the match, great goal line clearances, hard work and getting the assist!
