| Match Report | Tamworth produced an impressive performance against West Brom, running out convincing 5–1 winners after a strong second-half display.
Tamworth took the lead in the 34th minute, with Terry Sperrink finding the back of the net to make it 1–0. West Brom responded soon after, bringing the scores level at 1–1 and setting up a competitive finish to the first half.
However, Tamworth regained the advantage just before the break. In the 44th minute, a short corner was converted by Ben Bowyer to put Tamworth back in front at 2–1.
Tamworth came out strongly after the interval and quickly extended their lead. Tom Hancix struck twice in quick succession, scoring in the 52nd and 63rd minutes to put Tamworth firmly in control at 4–1.
The scoring was completed in the 69th minute, when Elliott found the net with a deflection from a penalty-corner move, sealing an excellent 5–1 victory for Tamworth.
Despite the impressive attacking display, Man of the Match honours went to goalkeeper James Miles, who produced a crucial save from a penalty flick to deny West Brom and help preserve Tamworth's commanding lead.
A strong team performance from Tamworth, with clinical finishing, excellent penalty-corner work and a standout display between the posts securing a deserved three points |
