Tamworth Men's Seconds Vs Beacon

On the Sunday, Tamworth travelled away to Beacon, the bottom of the league side, with some ailing bodies, the team started excellently, through a wonder short corner routine, Bowyer found Holloway, who advanced and flicked the ball into the top corner.  Shortly after this opener, Dave Belson made it two after running on to a through ball and striking the ball into the bottom corner – 2-0.

Beacon, bottom of the league was looking dangerous and had several stand out players.  In the 2nd half Tamworth took a 3 goal lead, after Simon Bowyer struck home a perfectly placed strike from the top of the D.  beacon then made several changes and pushed Tamworth back, they got back in the game through a short corner routine leaving Jack Corden no chance.  Within just a few moments and some questionable umpiring decisions Beacon fired 2 reverse strikes into the back of the net and this game was on!!

Tamworth lost their shape and way as Beacon looked more likely to take home the 3 points.  However some great counter attack play led to another short corner routine and that man Simon Bowyer stepped up and hit the sweetest strike into the bottom left corner to re take the lead 4-3!!  Tamworth managed the game superbly for the last 10 minutes and held on to the win!

A great weekend and 6 points, Simon Bowyer bagging Man of the Match for his 2 goals and assist.
