| Match Report | Tamworth suffered back-to-back defeats with a lacklustre performance and local rival Sutton Coldfield.
It was a below par performance from Tamworth on a wet and windy Saturday and credit to Sutton who played better and deserved the 2-1 victory.
The 1st half played out goalless with lots of nearly moments for both sides with Sutton having most of the possession but neither sides really looking likely to open the scoring. As the 2nd half began, Sutton finally broke the deadlock through some neat play which led to a tap in finish. Tamworth rallied well and through their only short corner of the game, found the equaliser through Josh Andrews who cleverly knocked in on the post from a good short corner routine.
As Tamworth looked like they may push on from the equaliser, some sloppy defending and poor passing at the back let the Sutton forward through and created the winner to make it 2-1.
Tamworth sit mid table and hopefully can bounce back next weekend to winning ways. |
