Tamworth Men's Seconds Vs Bloxwich 3

Tamworth suffered defeat to promotion chasing Bloxwich this weekend.

In a game which was played in great spirit Tamworth battled well and produced a really good 1st half display, whilst going behind after Cam Hancox was green carded to short corner routine Tamworth bounced back and Josh Volante played in Dave Belson who shook off the defender to reverse stick the ball into the side netting making it 1-1.

Tamworth snook in front moment later after great play again by Josh Volante, and Belson struck a shot which hit the Bloxwich foot on the line – penalty flick.  Jez Holloway dispatched neatly into the bottom left corner making it 2-1.  The game was really end to end, however Bloxwich were obtaining short corner after short corner and eventually this paid off with an equaliser.  In the later moment of the 1st half the ball presented to the Bloxwich centre forward left a 1 on 1 and Corden had no chance as the home side went 3-2 up at the interval.

The second half Tamworth tired and although still created a number of chances, none of these were taken and Bloxwich struck again through yet another short corner routine.  Even though GK Corden made several saves from Shorts, the relentless number of them prevailed as late on in the game Bloxwich scored another taking the final score to 5-2.  A very well contested match with the better side taking the victory.  Man of the Match Josh Vola
