Match Report

Tamworth produced a stunning second-half display to secure a commanding 7–3 home victory over Finchfield, powered by a sensational goal spree from striker Graeme Cook.

The match began as a tightly contested affair, with both sides trading attacks in an open and entertaining first half. Finchfield proved stubborn opponents and matched Tamworth goal for goal, leaving the score finely balanced at 2–2 at half-time.

Whatever was said in the Tamworth team talk clearly had the desired effect. The second half belonged to Graeme Cook, who delivered a devastating burst of finishing that turned the game on its head. In a breathtaking spell lasting just six minutes, Cook struck four goals, showcasing sharp movement, composure in the circle, and ruthless finishing that Finchfield simply could not contain.

Alongside Cook’s heroics, Ben Bowyer added two well-taken goals to maintain the pressure on the visitors, while Dominic Parry chipped in with another to round off a dominant attacking display.

Finchfield continued to battle and managed to find the net three times over the course of the match, but they were ultimately overwhelmed by Tamworth’s pace and precision going forward.

It was a complete team performance, but the standout moment — and performance — belonged to Graeme Cook, whose incredible four goals in six minutes as striker will long be remembered by the home supporters.

A convincing win that keeps Tamworth’s momentum firmly rolling.
