Tamworth battled to a thrilling 4–3 victory over Stafford in a fiercely contested match that swung back and forth from the opening minutes to the final whistle.

Stafford started the brighter of the two sides and capitalised early, taking a 1–0 lead after a quick break caught Tamworth off guard. The response, however, was immediate. Ben Bowyer brought Tamworth level with a well-taken finish, showing composure under pressure.

Stafford regained their lead midway through the half, but Bowyer once again stepped up, striking his second of the match to make it 2–2 at half-time in a breathless opening period.

Half time 2-2

The second half continued in the same end-to-end fashion. Tamworth edged ahead for the first time when Ian Wagstaff swept home after sustained attacking pressure. But Stafford refused to go away, finding another equaliser to bring the score back to 3–3 and set up a tense final phase.

With five minutes remaining, Bowyer produced the decisive moment.Converting a well won shirt corner , he fired home to complete his hat-trick and restore Tamworth’s lead at 4–3.

From there, it was about grit, organisation, and strong defensive resilience. Carter Bradshaw and Dylan Waldron were superb at the back, cutting out dangerous counters, while goalkeeper James Miles made several important saves to preserve the advantage. Their collective effort ensured Tamworth held firm in the closing moments to secure a hard-fought and well-earned win.

A match filled with momentum swings ended with a standout individual performance: Man of the Match – Ben Bowyer.
