Bridgnorth 2–2 Tamworth

Tamworth were forced to settle for a share of the points after a dramatic late fightback from Bridgnorth in an intense and hard-fought encounter.

The first half was a tense, goalless affair, with both sides creating chances but failing to break the deadlock. Tamworth came closest through Dominic Parry and Graeme Cook, both of whom saw efforts narrowly miss the target in promising positions. At the other end, goalkeeper James Miles was in inspired form, producing a series of key saves to keep Bridgnorth at bay and ensure the sides went into the break level at 0–0.

Tamworth came out strongly after half-time and were rewarded for their pressure. Terry Sperrink opened the scoring with a well-taken finish, and moments later Dominic Parry doubled the advantage, giving the visitors some much-needed breathing room at 2–0.

However, Bridgnorth refused to go quietly. A sustained spell of pressure followed, with a barrage of short corners testing Tamworth’s defensive resolve. Despite continued heroics from Miles and strong resistance from the back line, Bridgnorth finally broke through, scoring twice in the final ten minutes to haul themselves back into the contest and bring the game level at 2–2.

Tamworth showed great character to weather the late storm and hold on for the draw, though there was understandable frustration at conceding their two-goal cushion so late on.

There were standout performances across the pitch, particularly from Dominic Parry, Elliott Birchall, and goalkeeper James Miles, who was a constant presence throughout.
