| Match Report | Tamworth 2nds delivered a dominant and entertaining performance against Nuneaton Development, running out convincing 12–1 winners after an excellent display of simple, effective hockey and confident passing throughout the side. The breakthrough came from a well-worked short corner. Resh opened the scoring after a perfect injection to Rachel, who struck the ball first time. Resh was perfectly positioned on the post to tap it home and get Tamworth up and running. The momentum continued soon after when Zoe doubled the lead from open play, finishing calmly after another flowing move. Tamworth were moving the ball brilliantly and maintaining relentless pressure. The third goal followed, and then Jess T decided to charge forward, producing a powerful strike that flew past the goalkeeper to extend the advantage. Tamworth began the second half a little slower, and Nuneaton managed to create an opportunity after a breach of the 5-metre rule near the sideline resulted in a short corner. The visitors executed it well, with the ball taking a deflection of goalkeeper Nicky Youngman’s stick, making the score 6–1. That moment only seemed to refocus Tamworth. Cathy T was released up front and produced two outstanding finishes, goals that any forward would have been proud to claim. A special mention must go to Hannah Marshall, who delivered a truly superb performance. She struck four superbly taken goals, combining sharp finishing with some exciting link-up play — including some lovely combinations with her mum that delighted the crowd. Overall, it was a fantastic team display: confident passing, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing throughout. |
