Tamworth's second league game of the season saw them face local rivals Atherstone where they produced a super performance winning 7-1. Four goals in the opening 22 minutes set the town side on their way to a convincing win, Lucy Dale scored twice in the 3rd and 6th minute of the game with two super strikes before Kirsty Brown was set up by daughter Issy Wright, Claire Miles added a fourth with a reverse stick strike and Resh Kaur making it five before half time, Courtney Bravington-Moore showing great composure to draw the keeper before squaring the ball to Kaur to slot home.
The second half continued in the same vein with Tamworth controlling possession with their passing and movement, Lucy Dale capped a fine performance as she completed her hat trick before Cathy Thacker completed the rout. Atherstone enjoyed a good spell of possession in the later stages of the game as they forced a couple of short corners and scoring a late consolation goal.
Another excellent team performance.
