Tamworth returned to action following the Christmas break suffering a disappointing 3-0 loss to North Staffs. With a big squad at their disposal the town side used their rotations well playing some super hockey. The game was a tight affair and a midfield battle with North Staffs just edging the chances created, but neither side was able to break the deadlock and they went into the break all square.
The second session followed the same pattern with both sides enjoying good spells of possession, Jess Thacker had an excellent game at center back marshalling her defense well and starting a number of attacks with some super passing, debutant Mia Hampton also had a great game in defence. The deadlock was finally broken midway through the half, then two goals in a minute ten minutes later sealed the win for Staffs.
Although a disappointing result Tamworth can take a lot of positives into next week's game.
