Match Report

The ladies 1s recorded a superb 5-0 win away to Stafford on Saturday. Tamworth made a positive start controlling the tempo of the game with some crisp passing and were rewarded with an early goal, Lucy Dale saw her shot well saved but the ball came out to captain Aime Bishop who fired home from the top of the 'D' . Defensively the town side were solid with Danielle Hill and Paula Cooper composed when put under any pressure. Tamworth created chances but didn't add to their score until the final minute of the half Tara Wylie scoring from a short corner to take the away side into the break 2-0 to the good.
The second session was evenly contested but again the town's defense stood firm desperate to keep a clean sheet, GK Nicky Youngman was called into action on a couple of occasions making good saves before Tara Wylie scored her second and Tamworth's third with a thunderous reverse stick strike. The town side managed the game well creating more chances on goal but it wasn't until the final ten minutes of the game that they sealed the win. Kirsty Brown scored the fourth following good link up play from Aime Bishop and Claire Miles with Tara Wylie capping another excellent performance as she completed her hat-trick with a mazy run beating three players before calmly slotting past the keeper.
A massive three points for the team and lots of positives to take into the second half of the season.
