Match Report | Tamworth 2nds fell to their second defeat in successive league games with a 5-1 defeat to Bloxwich. Poor availability within the men’s section left the away side with a bare eleven players and 3 carrying injuries, this told as the home side started strongly and with in the first 10 minutes they were 2-0 ahead. Tamworth grew in to the first half and managed to pull one back before half time when Olly Bowyer struck a lovey reverse tomahawk into the corner.
After half time, Tamworth did rally and came close on a few occasions through some neat work by Dave Belson, but was thwarted by the Bloxwich defence. Then some poor play by Tamworth saw the ball presented to the opposition inside Tamworth’s half and the 3rd goal came – after this Tamworth did fall to pieces and the home side took advantage, ending the scoring 5-1 to Bloxwich, while the scoreline perhaps didn’t represent the game, the home side deserved the victory. Olly Bowyer standing out for great combative effort in the midfield and his superb goal. |
