Tamworth 2nds faced a resolute and skilful Telford side as they looked to make it 4 wins from 4 games.

The home side started very brightly and through superb wing play from Jez Holloway he laid the ball in to Dave Belson, who drew the keeper out, and after a neat bit of skill flicked the ball over the stranded keeper into he roof of the net to give the home side the lad inside 10 minutes,

The game was frantic and end to end, and after a well worked Short Corner routine the away side struck home after good combination play to make the game all square.  It continued to move from one end to another and some classy play in midfield from Elliot Birchall who played in Belson, he drew the defender inside the D and slipped the ball across to Holloway who made no mistake in despatching a thunderbolt into the bottom left hand corner giving the Keeper no chance. Tamworth again edged in front.

Some more combination through Ben Hidderley, James Goode and Elliot Birchall saw Holloway latch on to a pass and become provider again to Belson, who saw his deflected flick nestle into the net, notching up his 10th goal in just 4 games and to take Tamworth 3-1 up at half time.

After the end to end momentum and goal fest in the 1st half this was certainly a game of two halves where Telford really tightened up and got their tactics right and while Tamworth hand a number of good chances to see the game off, Telford held maybe 70% possession and were a dominant force throughout the second half.  That aided by 2 Yellow cards for Tamworth, seeing Goode and Holloway both sent off for long periods of the match it was a case of holding on for Tamworth.  Great defensive work from Bowyer and Busby all the way through the second half and thanks to the two resilient defenders Tamworth held on and kept Telford out in the 2nd half and as a result the game ended 3-1 to the home side with Birchall picking up Player of the Match for his endless effort and creative skills.
