Tamworth Secure Promotion with Hard-Fought Victory
Tamworth sealed a well-earned promotion with a determined 2-1 victory over Old Silhs in front of a jubilant home crowd. A strong first-half display set the tone, and despite late pressure from the visitors, Tamworth held firm to claim the three points they needed.
The breakthrough came early, with Terry Sperrink opening the scoring after a well-worked attacking move. Tamworth continued to press, and their dominance was rewarded when Ian Wagstaff doubled the lead from a perfectly executed penalty corner, giving the hosts a 2-0 advantage at the break. Half time 2-0
Old Silhs came out fighting in the second half, applying relentless pressure, but Tamworth’s defense stood strong.
