The hosts wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Terry Sperrink opening the scoring in just the 5th minute. Dominic Parry, continuing his fine form, provided the assist with a pinpoint pass, allowing Sperrink to finish clinically and give Tamworth an early lead.

Tamworth continued to control possession, and in the 25th minute, Parry doubled the lead in spectacular fashion. Picking up the ball deep in midfield, he embarked on a dazzling solo run, weaving past Wellingborough defenders before unleashing a reverse-stick shot that flew past the keeper—a moment of sheer brilliance.

After halftime, Wellingborough showed signs of life, managing to pull a goal back in the 44th minute with a well-worked move that momentarily put Tamworth on the back foot. The victory was sealed in the 68th minute when Sperrink grabbed his second of the match. Popple, turning provider this time, delivered a well-timed pass, and Sperrink made no mistake, rifling the ball into the net to cap off a dominant performance.
