Tamworth's final game of the season ended with a disappointing loss to Ashbourne on Saturday. The town side struggled to get into the game with Ashbourne making the better start as they put Tamworth under early pressure and took a deserved lead midway through the half. Tamworth missed a penalty before a brilliant move found Phoebe Marsland unmarked at the far post to slot home her first senior goal. Ashbourne added another goal to go into the break 2-1 up.
The second session saw six goals scored, Tamworth pressed forward looking for an equaliser but were caught on the break with Ashbourne adding to their tally. Elaine Foxley was having a super game in midfield and was at the heart of all the towns good moves, Paula Cooper scored twice before Ashbourne scored again to run out 6-3 winners.
