The ladies seconds suffered a disappointing defeat on Saturday against Belper which unfortunately sealed their relegation. Tamworth went into the game knowing that they needed a win, and started the game positively, the first half was evenly contested as both sides enjoyed good spells of possession, Belper took the lead midway through the half although the town side had chances of their own Belper went into the break 1-0 up.
The second session was again well contested with both sides playing some great hockey. Lisa Moore returning from injury made a number of good saves, with Jane Escombe and Beth Wright both making goal line clearances before Belper added two more goals. As always Tamworth gave 100% right to the end and will look to end the season on a high as they face bottom of the table Ashbourne next week.
