Tamworth bounced back from yesterday's defeat as they travelled to Ashbourne needing a win to keep their chances of staying in the league alive. In harsh conditions that saw torrential rain , high winds and even hail at one point Tamworth battled hard for the whole game. Kirsty Brown never stopped running combing well with her daughter Issy Wright who had an excellent game on her birthday, tackling hard and hassling the Ashbourne midfield relentlessly. Teenagers pheobe Phillips and Sophie Bates combined well up front showing excellent promise for the future. No score at half time the Tamworth defence were holding firm with Audrey warburton making sone excellent tackles on the left. Not long after the restart Tamworth were awarded a short corner Brown hit the ball out to Clare Phillips who slotted the ball to Di Milner who buried it in the left corner of the goal. A second followed Fifteen minutes later when Phillips played the ball to Paula cooper on the right who cracked the ball into the D to Milner who bagged her second and secured the win for Tamworth.
