Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Burton 2

Tamworth were on the back foot from the start in this local derby.  The Tamworth defence were holding tight when the ball broke out of their D and Anne Marshall ran though the Burton defence passing to youngster Izzy Wright who took on the keeper to score against the run of play in the 10th minute. Burton continued to press and eventually broke down the Tamworth defence following a series of short corners to equalise going into the break.  A tactical change at half time by manager Jean Froggatt further shored up the strong Tamworth defence and neutralised Burton's main line of attack.Pheobe Marsland ran tirelessly in midfield as the Tamworth defence absorbed wave after wave of Burton attack in the second half. A hard fought point coming Tamworth’s way in the end with Marsland being awarded player of the match.
