Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Derby 3

The ladies seconds recorded their first win of the season with a hard fought victory over Derby on Saturday. The only goal of the game came in the 19th minute when Elaine Foxley received the ball in the 'D' she showed great skill to beat a couple of players before setting up Di Milner to slot home. The game was fairly evenly balanced as both sides enjoyed good spells of possession, with the town side forcing a couple of good saves from the Derby keeper but couldn't add to their score and went into the break 1-0 to the good.

The second session saw Tamworth again enjoy some really good passages of play, Anne Marshall had a super game on the left flank working tirelessly to support both the attack and defence, Resh Kaur was unlucky not to increase the towns score as Milners super pass found her unmarked in the 'D' but the Derby keeper reacted brilliantly to save her shot. With both teams putting in a massive effort the game became a little stretched but the Tamworth defence remained solid as they denied Derby any clear cut chances and at the other end the town were just unable to finish off chances created, and they hung on for three valuable points.
