Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Ilkeston 1

Tamworth seconds travelled to Ilkeston for their second game of the season with a mix of youth and experience in the team. Tamworth started really strongly with good passing amongst the whole team. Issy Wright worked hard up front putting pressure on the defence and she was bundled over at the top of the D as the Ilkeston defenders struggled to keep up. The game was end to end with chances for both sides and keeper Nicky Youngman made a brilliant save high to the right to ensure there was no score at half time. Ilkeston put Tamworth under pressure in the second half but Tamworth defence held strong. A save from keeper Youngman and the ball broke out to Anne Marshall on the right who passed to Resh Kaur who found Wright in the D who passed to Elaine Foxley who slotted the ball past the keeper to put Tamworth in the lead. Ilkeston then pushed hard breaking down their right and they eventually equalised with 10 minutes to go. Youngster Pheobe Marshland played well throughout the game as did Hannah Channing who worked tirelessly. Honours even at the end Tamworth were relieved to come away with a point.
