The intensity heightened in the second half as Tamworth intensified their offensive efforts. The breakthrough moment arrived when Ian Wagstaff slotted home precise short corner that found the back of Atherstone's net.

Atherstone, determined to respond, increased their offensive pressure, but Tamworth's defense held firm, thwarting every attempt to equalize.

Tom Hancox drew several short corners which Tamworth were unable to convert but did some essential defence play from midfield Jake Mallinder and James Griffin which enabled Tamworth to keep the lead.
