Tamworth started brightly pressuring a strong finchfield team who were second in the league going into the game. Jo Goode and Hannah Channing worked well together in the middle of the pitch distributing the ball well. Finchfield worked themselves back into the game and it was only strong defending from Sam Bowyer and jane escombe and
some superb keeping from Nicky Youngman that kept the opposition from taking the lead. No score at halftime and the whole Tamworth team kept battling well. Paula cooper found Elaine Foxley with a long pass that travelled two thirds of the length of the pitch. Foxley found Goode who passed to Channing whose strong hit into the D landed at Danielle hills feet who deftly lifted the ball over the keeper to put Tamworth into the lead. Finchfield came back strongly and saves off the line by Claire Phillips and Jess Thacker together with a string of outstanding saves from player of the match Youngman ensured that the score remained one nil to Tamworth.
