Match Report

The ladies seconds finished the season on a high after beating Beacon 7-0 on Saturday and securing  third place in the league. Tamworth made an uncharacteristically slow start to the game giving the ball away cheaply with Beacon enjoying more possession although they didn't capitalise on this as they didn't really threaten the town goal, and they were made to pay as with their first attack Tamworth took the lead through Danielle Hill as she latched onto Fiona Sinclair's cross. This settled the town side as they looked after the ball better attacking down both flanks, good build up down the right found Di Milner in space and her pass found Sinclair who made no mistake as she fired the ball into the net to make it 2-0. A short corner superbly converted by Sam Bowyer gave Tamworth a 3-0 half time lead.
Tamworth played a much more controlled game in the second half with a more paticiant build up play, as they kept better possession of the ball building attacks from the back, this paid dividends as they peppered the Beacon goal, Paula Cooper, Anne Marshall and Sinclair all went close to scoring before Di Milner scored her first of the game. A good move down the left flank saw Marshall find Claire Miles at the top of the 'D' to fire home Tamworth's fifth, Milner got her second of the game before Danielle Hill completed the rout.
A good season for the ladies two's who have competed really well in the league.....final stats
