Tamworth Ladies Seconds Vs Cannock 3

The ladies 2s faced table topping Cannock on saturday narrowly losing 1-0. Cannock had scored freely in their prevoius games but the town side worked really hard to stifle any attacks with Clare Phillips, Sam Bowyer and Jane Escombe defending brilliantly alongside GK NIcky Youngman who also made some excellent saves.  Tamworth created a number of opportunities for themselves but just couldnt find that all important final touch, Anne Marshall worked tirelessly in midfield putting in some super crosses one of which Audrey Warburton almost latched onto but it was Cannock who took the lead late on in the half.

Cannock enjoyed the greater share of possession in the second half but the town soaked up the pressure and late on in the game almost snatched an equaliser, a mazy run from Claire MIles earned a short corner but the Cannock GK saved well from the resulting shot and the score remained 1-0 to Cannock.
