Match Report

The ladies 1s recorded their biggest win of the season with a dominant performance against Bridgenorth winning 7-0, Gemma Taroni hit 4, Claire Miles 2 and Michelle MacManus scoring the goals for the home side.
Taroni opened the scoring after only 3 minutes with a strong run finishing with a super strike into the roof of the net, she added a second 10 minutes later from a penalty corner. Tamworth controlled the tempo of the game with the away side not able to cope with the town passing and movement, Charley Rowe was having an excellent game on the left, winning the ball on numerous occasions and quickly setting up a number of attacks and combining well with Kirsty Brown. Michelle MacManus hit her first goal of the season as she deflected Stevie Williams shot past the GK to give Tamworth a commanding 3-0 half time lead.
The second session saw Tamworth score three times in the opening 10 minutes to put the game out of sight. Claire Miles got her first of the game, following some super play down the right flank, Amie Bishops cross found Miles and her first time strike flew into theĀ  corner. Taroni completed her hat trick with another super strike 4 minutes later. Tamworth were now playing with real confidence, Alex Wylie was full of running in midfield beating players at will and creating a number of attacking opportunities, while at the back the towns defence snuffed out any rare Bridgenorth attack. Miles got the town's sixth goal from another short corner, before Taroni completed the rout in the 61st minute with her fourth of the game as she fired home from a tight angle. A great result for the side.
