Tamworth Men's Thirds Vs Atherstone Adders 5 Development

Tamworth 3rds development team started their season campaign at home vs local rivals Atherstone Adders,

This proved to be a great start to the season for Tamworth who have retained a core group of promising youth entering into a league format for the 1st time.

The game started out well balanced and both teams looked for opportunities to take the lead, Tamworth gained confidence throughout the 1st half and then a superb pass from Simon Bowyer, to Ollie Bowyer who took on the last defender, rounded the keeper and with great composer slotted the ball into an empty net making it 1-0 to Tamworth.  This was a great springboard for Tamworth as before half time Tamworth pounced to score a further two goals, Josh Andrews neatly sweeping in a rebound from a short corner and Dylan Phillips pounced nicely to mean that Tamworth took a deserved lead into half time.

In the 2nd half the strength of Tamworth continued and Tamworth played some really great possession based hockey with great build up play, Cam Hunter instrumental in the midfield throughout the game with good energy and ball carrying.  It was Cam who instigated Tamworth’s 4th goal, with a pass out wide and a wonderful combination play led to a pull back to the top of the D where Ollie Bowyer had one touch and then a powerful finish into the bottom corner leaving the keeper no chance.

Tamworth continued to push and Dylan Phillips completed a brace with a neat finish close range and then promising forward & Man of the Match Ollie Bowyer completed his hattrick with aplomb to wrap up a great 6-0 victory for the Tamworth development side.
