Tamworth 2nds picked up there first away victory of the new campaign with a superb team performance,

Stafford started the game strongly and within the first 5 minutes through a short corner struck a shot which hit a foot on the line resulting in a penalty flick.  This was dispatched narrowly giving the home side a 1-0 lead, they pressed strong Stafford and had a few other short corners which Tamworth defended superbly keeping the game at 1-0.

 

As the game went on Tamworth grew into the match more with some great play through Jez Holloway, Olly Bowyer and Dave Belson leading to several chances to level the match.  That equaliser came midway through the half when Dave Belson pick pocketed the centre half and flicked the ball inn to the net drawing the game level.

 

Tamworth worked things well and took the lead through a brilliantly worked short corner routine which Simon Bowyer despatched, going in to half time 2-1 in the lead.

 

Tamworth with a combined defensive age of 215 were impeccable, holding Stafford at bay throughout the second half as they applied some pressure, goal line saves from Ethan Oxley, Nick Pound & Man of the Match Olly Bowyer buoyed the Tamworth team and the teamwork and resilience paid off, as Tamworth managed the game very well in the 2nd half and another neatly worked short corner routine was nudged in by Robert Busby to complete the scoring and allowing Tamworth to take home the 3 points.
