Match Report

Tamworth were eager to add more points to their season after a strong win last week. The opposition of Warwick didn't make it easy however.

Tamworth began the game with some strong possession play and kept the ball well to gradually build an attack. The defence held the ball well with movement between Joe Wood, Carter Bradshaw and Ian Wagstaff kept Tamworth in control for the majority of the half.

The play progressed up the pitch and after some strong pressing play from Winger Tom Hancox and Striker Ben Bowyer created a penalty corner which was converted calmly by Tom Hancox to put Tamworth in front.

Tamworth continued to press but were unable to add to their lead before the break.

Half Time: 1-0

Warwick mounted a counter attack early into the second half but the collective efforts of Andy MacManus and Connor Diggens kept the attack at bay.

Elliot Birchall lead the charge as Tamworth continued to push to double their lead. Some strong play between Elliot Birchall and Tom Hancox was driven across the D and converted by James Griffin for Tamworth to go 2-0 up.

Tamworth continued the press and several chances were made which forced the opposing goalkeeper to make a save. A chance to go 3 up was narrowly missed by Dylan Waldron who put a goal wide in the dying moments.

Tamworth finished the game victorious and moved to 3rd in the table.
