| Match Report | With a much changed team and tricky conditions the ladies 2s faced Aldridge and Walsall on Saturday coming away with a hard fought win. Tamworth took a while to settle a Aldridge had the better of the play, GK Lisa Moore made some excellent saves with defenders Paula Cooper, Cathy Thacker and Jo Bryan making some important tackles. The town side settled and created a couple of chances of their own with Hannah Marshall and Danielle Hill going close, but the team went into the break all square. Tamworth started the second session really positively and dominated possession taking the lead midway through the half, Claire Miles saw her shot hit the post but Tilly Bryan picked up the rebound exchanging passes with Danielle Hill before slotting the ball home. With the town side playing with confidence Aldridge were restricted to breakaway attacks bit once again Lisa Moore was in super form when called into action. Danielle Hill had a goal disallowed before giving Tamworth a 2-0 lead, Aldridge pulled a goal back but the town side hung on for the win. |
