Match Report

Tamworth 4s faced Wats 4s at home on Saturday and started the game strongly, confidently passing the ball around. The scoring was opened early in the first half by a great shot from Sandie Jorissen, from a lovely cross from Beth Wright, which was drilled straight through the keeper. Despite the best efforts of the Tamworth team WATS managed to equalise shortly after from a short corner, but Tamworth kept their heads up and worked really well as a team and managed to score again from another cross from Beth Wright which Charlotte Rymond fired home.

The second half was played in very wet conditions but Tamworth kept the pressure on and quickly added another goal with a tap in from Margaret Worsley. WATS came back strongly with some creative play but strong goalkeeping from stand in keeper Deb Oxley and a superb goal line clearance by Bev Aylesbrook kept them out. Tamworth never sat back and created a chance for Charlotte Rymond to score her second goal of the game. WATS pressed hard towards the end of the game and managed to pull a goal back from a short corner with only a few minutes left.

The final score was a very well deserved win for Tamworth 4-2. A fantastic team effort again with some great play from a more and more confident Beth Wright, who was player of the match, and a great first appearance for youngster Courtney Bravington.
