Match Report | Tamworth 4s had their first home league game of the season against Lichfield 7s. Tamworth started the game brightly in wet conditions passing the ball around nicely and settling into the game well. Several goal scoring chances were created but unfortunately none could be converted, Tamworth being denied by a strong Lichfield defence. Lichfield got more and more into the game forcing several short corners which were all well defended. The game continued with chances being created at both ends of the pitch but the deadlock was broken when Lichfield finally scored. Tamworth kept battling and creating chances but unfortunately another Lichfield goal was scored just before half time.
The second half was played in monsoon conditions but Tamworth kept working hard again creating chances, but the final score was a 2-0 win for Lichfield. The whole team put in a battling performance throughout the game with some great work from youngsters Alicia Dennison, Beth Wright and Zoe Alldridge. LPOM and TPOM was Sandie Jorissen with another strong performance.
