Match Report

Tamworth 4s travelled to Keele University for their match on Saturday. Tamworth were expecting a tough game against a young, quick team, who once again fielded 11 outfield players all game with no goalkeeper. The task was made harder with only 10 players available to travel to the game. The town side battled hard and tried to keep the Keele youngsters out. The first goal came from a defender's unfortunate deflection, but the town side kept their heads up and continued to battle. Many short corners were awarded but the defence held firm. In the first half the goalkeeper saved numerous shots but Keele managed to convert 3 of the chances to make the half time score 4-0.

The second half continued to be a real battle in defence but superb work from Sheri Allsop, Fiona Whittaker and Rachel Frost along with goalkeeper Vicky Butler managed to keep the goal count down as much as they could! The midfield and forwards worked tirelessly too, managing several times to get the ball towards the Keele goal.

Keele did convert some more of their chances and the final score was 10 nil, but it could have been so many more without the efforts of goalkeeper and player of the match Vicky Butler, who had an incredibly busy game!

The 10 players who travelled to Keele were a credit to their Captain Rachel Frost as everyone gave their all for the whole game and kept their heads up and had a positive attitude despite the score. Well done everyone.
