Match Report

Tamworth got off to a rocky start when defender Lucy plant had to retire from the game 5 minutes In after twisting her back leaving the home side with only 10 players.

A bit of reorganisation at the back and Tamworth started to run freely up front.  Great passing throughout the team created chances and Becca warburton scored 2 quick goals poaching the ball off the keepers pads.  Aldridge got one back on the break but warburton got her hat trick before half time following a great cross from jo Goode.  Fiona Ferguson and Nadia Williams ran strongly and Alex Wylie worked tirelessly on the right, tackling and passing and creating chances in the D.  Claire miles, who bossed the centre of the pitch scored Tamworth’s 4th from a strongly struck short corner.  Aldridge scored their 2nd from a short corner but then Tamworth really got hold of the game with captain Kirsty brown making some crucial tackles after having to move into a more defensive role.  Keeper Nikki Youngman made some good diving saves and defenders Leah Ward and Paula Cooper played the ball around with confidence. Miles scored her second from another well struck short and Wylie made a great individual run and scored Tamworth’s 6th.  Miles and Wylie combined well from another short and miles got her hat trick with a great reverse flick to make the final score 7 2.  Wylie was voted both league and team player of the match.
