Tamworth Ladies Fourths Vs WATS 4's

Tamworth ladies 4th's team travelled to Wolves to play a higher placed team who had also beaten them earlier in the season. The match started at a fast pace with Tamworth attacking hard with Margaret Worsley challenging the goal keeper on numerous occasions. The midfield continued to support with some great moves from Sandie Jorissen, Sheena Williams and Bea Pound. Wolves constantly attacked on the left hand side causing the defence to mark tight and defend really hard. A messy scramble in front of the goal and misunderstanding between Rachel Frost and GK Vicky Butler lead to soft goal by Wolves.

After a constructive half team talk Tamworth came out strong with a great cross from Charlotte Rymond to Bea Pound who delivered an accurate ball to Margaret Worsley who was faced with their GK calmly placing the ball in to the goal. Beth Barrett and Sian Bennett gave a sterling performance down the wing to also create chances in the 'D'. Wolves created numerous short corners but the defence worked hard with Fiona Whittaker, Bev Alesbrook and Sheri Allsop driving the ball out of danger. The match finished 1-1 well deserved result for Tamworth once again a great team performance.
