Stone started strongly and looked menacing in blustery conditions. Keeper Nicky Youngman kept the defence in order and they held strong with sam bowyer making some crucial tackles and combining well with Jacqui Casey. Jo Goode and Di Milner worked tirelessly in midfield distributing the ball brilliantly. Kirsty Wright ran continually across the pitch creating opportunities in the D and eventually Goode found her with a great ball for wright to open the scoring. Youngman made some fantastic saves throughout the game clearing to ball out of danger. In the second half Tamworth started to get on top of the game and Wright drove to the base line and pulled the ball back for Milner to score past the keeper for Tamworth’s second. A well worked short corner with Wright passing to Goode who passed to Paula Cooper who passed to Harriet Gilman who slotted the ball home for Tamworth’s third. A lapse of concentration saw stone get a consolation goal but that took nothing away from a great team performance. Youngman was name league player with 5 players - Milner, Goode, Bowyer, Casey and Harriet Gilman sharing the club player of the match honours to emhasise the great team performance this week.
