Match Report

13 year old Tara Wylie's brilliant performance was the only positive that could be taken from this bottom of the table clash. She played with the strength and commitment of someone twice her age as she skilfully played her way around the pitch beating players at will.   Initially Tamworth started brightly and took the lead with a claire Miles  strike from the top of the circle beating the good keeper. North staffs soon equalised and then took the lead with breakaway goals.  Miles scored again from a short corner but north staffs went ahead again a few minutes later. Wylie then produced the goal of the season driving into the circle, beating defender after defender before striking a great shot from a ridiculously tight angle to draw Tamworth level again. North staffs then scored the winning goal with only a few minutes left leaving Tamworth out of the relegation zone by goal difference only. Wylie was named both league and team player of the match and has an incredibly bright future in hockey ahead of her.
