Match Report

The Ladies 3s had a break from league hockey on Saturday with a friendly against Bloxwich which gave an opportunity to give several of the junior girls a game.  The first half was full of end to end play with everyone battling hard putting in strong tackles and some lovely passing moves.

Bloxwich broke the deadlock as they scored from a rebound as they reacted quickest from the initial shot. However Tamworth kept battling and passing the ball well, but were unable to convert any chances created and a second Bloxwich goal coming from a short corner to make the score two nil at half time.

Tamworth came out in positive fashion in the second half enjoying plenty of possession with youngsters Tara Wylie, Charlotte Hicks, Jess Barker and Emily Barker working tirelessly in midfield, passing the ball around nicely creating more chances for the town side.  Tamworth pulled a goal back when a cross from Sophie Marshall on the right was slotted past the Bloxwich keeper by Di Milner to make it 2-1. An almost identical move from the same 2 players levelled the scores at 2-2.

With the scores level both teams were pushing for a winner. There were short corners won at both ends of the pitch but none could be converted. A fantastic through ball found Di Milner in a one on one with the keeper, but unfortunately the shot went wide! And the final score remained 2-2, but Tamworth can be very proud of all the youngsters who played.
